Day 18 - Wednesday, March 19, 2025 – Disembark Ship & Return to USA
It was a dark and rainy morning when we put our luggage outside of our cabin door at 4:15. We met three of our fellow passengers also on the same flight and said goodbye to all four of our trip leaders.
The airport was about twenty minutes away and at that time there was almost no traffic on the roads. We thanked our driver and went directly to the Lufthansa gate agent who processed our luggage and gave us boarding passes for both of our flights.
Neither of us was feeling well; we had picked up coughs, sore throats, and a cold during the last few days of the voyage. The first flight was only 2 hours to Munich.
Upon arriving we found the Lufthansa Lounge and had a cup of tea and coffee. We received a notice that the flight to Denver was delayed for an hour.
As the departure time approached, we cleared customs and immigration and went to the gate for international flights on Concourse L. After the crew welcomed us, we declined the meal service and tried to get some rest during our 10-hour flight.
Gennie communicated with our driver, Marcus and he was right there to meet us after going through Global Entry and then finding our bags and clearing customs.
We will finish our Mediterranean Navigation with a photo of each of the countries from our Ports of Call. Again, thank you for following our journey. We wish you all good health and happiness and peace on earth!
Accommodations: Home Sweet Home
Wishing you some well-deserved good days to make up for all the crummy ones lately.
I was happy to see you are travelling again and have enjoyed reading your posts. After recent knee replacement and back surgery I am looking forward to the Northern Italy OAT trip this September.
Trip and pictures were fabulous.
Beautiful weather to come home to. Dave visited with Don today. Looking forward to chatting with you two.
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but it's not uncommon. I hear of many people returning from trips/vacations and some even have COVID. At least I'm sure you were able to get some sleep on your flight home. Take care and be well soon. Thank you for taking me along on your trip.
Post a Comment!I hope you both are feeling better and enjoyed today’s sunshine!
