Mayan Riviera
February 13, 2007 - Tuesday - Iberostar Paraiso del Mar
We woke to a beautiful day, but Gennie had a killer headache and we were not able to go to Xcaret, the water park with the Poulsens as we had planned. She wanted me to go, but as we are in this as a team, I stayed behind also. I had breakfast with the Poulsens and then came back to our room.
There was a very cool fresh breeze out on our deck so while Gen tried to rest and let her medication work, I read and enjoyed the sounds of the morning in the jungle. It was about 85 degrees today, but seems a bit less humid. The clear blue sky is very typical of the Yucatan during this time of the year.
At about 1:30 we decided to get out a bit and we walked to the beach patio restaurant where we had a salad and a cool drink. We decided to explore more of the grounds, so while keeping in the shade of the vegetation we walked through our hotel, over to the Ibersostar Playa and then south to the Iberostar Lindo: all part of this huge complex.
I was able to take many photographs and we completed our walk back at our own building. I finished reading my book and then worked on my photographs and started to write the reflections of the day.
At 7 PM we walked over to the Main Lounge, had a drink, paid our bills for our stay and then went to dinner at 7:45. It is very humid tonight and our walk over to the convention center was pleasant in the slight breeze.
