Antarctica's White Wilderness

DAY 1 - Thursday, January 14, 2016 - Depart U.S. for Atlanta and then Fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina

Grand Circle Cruise Line

Antarctica's White Wilderness

Sebastián (Seba) Lescano

When Vic said he wanted to go "South" in January, I thought he might be talking about Arizona or Florida. No way; he was thinking about a lot further south! We are on our way to Antarctica!

Our Delta flight to Atlanta did not leave DIA until 1:15 pm so we had plenty of time to walk our regular two and a half mile route and finalize a few last minute tasks before we began our journey to our "Seventh Continent ".

We left home at 9:45 am and made a short stop at 7-Eleven to check our Power Ball numbers. Fortunately, we did not win so we did not have billions of dollars to worry about before we left.

The temperature was 45 degrees and the Colorado sun was bright. It is always good to have favorable weather flying out of Denver. Our aircraft arrived on time and miraculously there were no delays for the first leg of our flight.

Arriving in Atlanta on time at 6:00 pm, we had a nice layover until 9:00 for our connecting overnight flight to Buenos Aires. We found the Delta Lounge and posted the first day of GarciaTrips.

We are not sure of the Internet connections we will have on the ship but while we are in Argentina in Buenos Aires and Ushuaia we will continue to keep you updated on our Antarctica Adventure.
