Heart of India

Day 19 - Tuesday, November 15, 2016 - Fights to Munich, Germany and Denver, Colorado

Our overnight flight from Delhi scheduled to leave at 1:50 am was not only on time but it left 15 minutes early! We snuggled in to our little seat beds and went right to sleep. If the Lufthansa staff served an evening meal, they did it quietly as we did not hear a thing!

The lights came on about 4:30 am and breakfast was served. Our landing in Munich was at 5:30 and we had no problems going through immigration and then through a well-organized and smooth running security check to enter the airport for our next flight. German efficiency at its best!

We took the train to the H Concourse and then found the Lufthansa Lounge to set up shop for our 6-hour layover. The Wi-Fi at the Business Center was amazingly fast and Vic was able to load a video of the Evening Prayer Ceremony on the Ganges.

Gennie checked our flight and it is still on time, we left the lounge at 11:00 to board our 11:30 flight straight to Denver. The duration of the flight was almost 11 hours, but we slept, read, and watched the world go by beneath us.

Our trip to India was astonishing. As we said, words and even a few photos cannot describe the welcoming and friendly Indian people. We were treated as Rock Stars; always respected and so often photographed with individuals and families all over the Heart of India.

Sujay, our Tour Director opened so many doors for us and set the tone with the local people that we were travelers who wanted to learn, not tourists who just wanted to see or shop.

With smiles and hands folded, “Namaste” goes a long way to bridge cultural and social gaps. Namaste to all we met; to the other 14 people we traveled with, and to Sujay, our fearless leader.

We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. Mother Teresa
