Chile's Atacama Desert

It is time for another adventure! Returning to Chile and Argentina has been on our wish list after we had such a wonderful time in 2007. We are excited to have you follow our latest journey on our new and updated website.
Our son, Eduardo has revised the site so you can even follow us on your tablet or phone. You will never miss a day of GarciaTrips!
We had a whole morning in Colorful Colorado to walk our regular 2.5 mile morning hike and soak in the rare mountain air. The temperature was 56 degrees. The snow was melting and the sky was bright blue.
Leaving the house at noon, we stopped in Denver for a sandwich and then made it to the Pikes Peak parking area by 1:30 pm. When we checked into the American Airlines desk, we were able to show our new Global Entry cards that guarantee Pre-Check in. No more opening computers or taking off our shoes or jackets.
When we went to the Admirals Lounge we were able to look at our email and relax a bit before our flight at 4:20 pm to Dallas. The flight was a few minutes late arriving into DIA so we were very glad we had changed our original flight and given ourselves more time for the connection to Santiago.
Just when they were about to close the door they discovered a problem with the forward lavatory. An hour later when they were not able to fix it, they locked the lavatory door and we we were finally on our way.
The two hour flight went smoothly and we landed in The Lone Star State at 8:30ish. Our bags were checked all the way to Santiago so we only had to locate our gate. Using the SkyTrain we were taken right to the gate. We found an electrical outlet and we were able to upload the journal and send it on its way. We then checked in for the overnight flight leaving at 9:45.
Eating is never a priority when we fly but we did accept the juice before we settled in for the nine and a half hour flight to the Southern Hemisphere.
Thank you again for following our latest adventure. We would love to communicate with you so be sure to add a short comment at the bottom of the page.

Thank you. Another wonderful adventure-if I can't get there, I certainly enjoy armchair travel!
Your son did a fabulous job on the new website. I love it. Did they tell everyone to pucker up for the 2 hr flight to DFW with only 1 lavatory. LOL I am so excited for this trip -- didn't get to go with y'all the first time in 2007. TTYL
See you are just "around the corner"!! enjoy!
Love your new site. We took the same trip over Christmas this year. It was fantastic. Best part of trip was the time we spent in Bariloche - the scenery is breathtaking!
Yes, do love this new site!!!
Glad to hear you have arrived at your initial destination in good shape. Hope you have a wonderful time. Stay safe. Many blessings!
Hello Vic and Jeanne, How are you two doing? Still traveling, you picked a nice area. I traveled Argentina, Chile and Uruguay with a friend a few years ago. We had 6 weeks, and put our own route together. Beautiful area, we also hiked in the mountains, and were able to spend time in Salta my favorite place. Enjoy your trip, I am off to Turkey next week.... best Barbara
