Here we go again; we are off to the Low Countries of Northern Europe and France! Leaving Elephant Rock at 9:30 am, we wanted to have plenty of time to negotiate traffic as well as go through security and be on time for our 1:25 MST flight to Minneapolis.

We were covered in a blanket of fog all the way to Castle Rock. As we traveled north we came out of the clouds and had bright blue Colorado skies.

Traffic on I-25 was light and we did not have any delays. Springtime weather in Colorado can be unpredictable meaning you never know what the roads will be like. We are learning it is always best to be prepared and not anxious.

The Pikes Peak outlying parking was full and closed as it is still ski season in the High Country. We were directed to the Mt. Elbert lot where several shuttles were waiting for us.

The wind was blowing at 25-30 mph but it was 56 degrees. We stored our jackets and boarded the shuttle for the East terminal and the Delta desk.

Gennie had checked us in and printed our boarding passes at home. We only needed to have our documents verified and check our bags all the way to Amsterdam.

We had a little snack at the C Concourse and then found our gate - C44. Vic took a few photos and Gennie began writing the first journal of our European adventure.

Our flight to Minneapolis was less than two hours. We could see the snow covered fields as we approached the airport. We arrived at 4:00, earlier than our scheduled time.

A Delta attendant directed us to the Sky Lounge where we caught up on our messages and completed the first day's commentary.

The flight to Amsterdam boarded at 7:00 giving Vic lots of time to post Day 01 of our latest adventure.
