Hill Country, Austin, Texas

March 29, 2016

Our spring trip to the Hill Country in Austin, Texas brought delights as we made our way on the back roads of Travis County. As part of the1965 Highway Beautification Act, Lady Bird Johnson encouraged cleanup of the interstates and state highways.

Texas is especially blessed with spring wildflowers and the medians and road embankments were blanketed with the famous Texas Blue Bonnets, Prairie Paintbrushes, and Yellow Primroses.

This is the most beautiful down in the Hill Country with the Bluebonnets in bloom, but the most worse time for the rattlesnakes to be out -- be careful. Hate to say this here, but Frank passed away Friday night, April 1st.

It sounds beautiful. This is my favorite time of the year in Texas. I have always loved the beauty of the Texas wildflowers; and I hope they will still be in bloom when I head to Texas in 2 weeks to keep grandson Jack for a few days so Andrea & Mike can have a "getaway." Hope you have a wonderful trip and stay safe. Blessings, Carolyn

Beautiful! Our daughter and son-in- law will be moving there later this year. Ginger, Steve, and I are in Jordan, crossing into Israel later today.
