England's Countryside & Wales

Cheerio, we are off to London! We begin a short 10-day Go Ahead Tours journey to “England’s Countryside and Wales” today.

Earlier last year, we had reviewed the Hillman’s Wonders of the World list, http://www.hillmanwonders.com/ and we noticed in all of our trips to Great Britain; we had never seen the British Museum in London nor Stonehenge near Salisbury. We had also never been to Wales. What better time to go to England and Wales than now to visit the new little Princess Charlotte?

Our direct flight from Denver to Heathrow did not leave until 8:50 pm so we had the whole day to enjoy springtime in Monument. Our bags were packed with our jumpers (sweaters), windcheaters (raincoats), and brollys (umbrellas).

We had a light sandwich in Denver on the way to DIA even though there was a meal on our overnight flight. The Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot was not full and we easily found a parking space for the next 10 days.

Both sides of the terminal are open now so the shuttle let us off near the British Airways desk. Gennie had printed our boarding passes and had entered our Global Entry numbers so we just had to check our bags.

After a brief walk through security, we went straight to the gate and waited for our British Airways 747-400 flight. We had booked the BA World Traveller Plus seats, not Business Class, but an upgrade with more legroom and a few more amenities.

Of course, there will be a full report to let everyone know if this is a cost effective but comfortable way to fly. It did not take long to settle in and try to get a little sleep. The flight was scheduled to depart at 8:50 pm and was to take eight hours and fifty minutes.

With wheels up and a “Tally-Ho” we were off across the pond and on to Great Britain.

Where are you -- better yet - what color is your top - I cannot see you? LOL There is a cute couple over there, but a little young for them to be my friends Vic & Gennie. I might meet new friends. LOL

You caught me off guard, but it didn't take me long to get my bags packed, grab a bite to eat and I'm gone. Hope I didn't make you too late - love the upgrade with more leg room - of course, I will be sleeping anyway. Never been to London, so this will be another exciting venture for me and my "Play time". Have a great time and we'll talk later. Cheerio
