Day 02 - Sunday, April 17, 2011 - Depart Los Angeles, CA to Brisbane, Australia

Our Qantas Boeing 474-400 departed Los Angeles International Airport at 11:50pm. Our seats were comfortable because of the fact that the gate agent had changed our seat assignment and given us a row with an empty seat between us.
The Qantas crew was very professional and personable. We were served a light dinner about 30 minutes after boarding. Both of us tried to sleep as much as we could during the 13 hour flight.
Although the flight was very full, most of our neighboring passengers were polite and considerate travelers.
Breakfast was served about 90 minutes before we landed. We arrived in Brisbane at 6:00 on April 18, loosing a day and spending all of Sunday in the air.
The bright red sun was just coming up as we approached the shores of Australia. A great omen for the new adventure!

G-day mates! Glad to read that Brisbane is sunny and dry. They have had terrible flooding. We really enjoyed the night-time cruise up and down the river with a stop for a pint (or two) along the way. Have fun!
