Day 1 – Sunday, April 07, 2019 - Flight: Denver, Colorado to Munich, Germany
Italy, San Marino & Liechtenstein
After an unusually snowy and cold winter, we were delighted to leave Elephant Rock for two weeks and explore more of Italy. We have never been to San Marino or Liechtenstein so as long as we were there in Southern Europe, and those tiny countries were so close, we added them both to our itinerary.
The weather had been wonderful for the past week and our snow banks were almost melted. The bluebirds and robins were back – must be a sign that springtime in the Rockies was near.
Our friend, Tim, is staying at our home and with The Buddha; always very reassuring. The neighbors have been notified and ADT knows that Tim will be in charge while we are away.
Although we planned this trip on our own and did all of the research for hotels, route maps, and car rentals, we had help from AAA with the flights. Being AAA members for over 45 years, we had never used them for travel and we must say the agent was very helpful and the prices for flights were reasonable.
Traveling on a Sunday to Denver and DIA avoided most of the construction from Monument to Castle Rock through The Gap, the narrow two-lane interstate. The traffic was not too bad and we made it to the Pikes Peak Shuttle lot with plenty of time to spare.
Our Lufthansa flight from Denver to Munich was scheduled to depart at 4:10 PM. Because we had flown this route several times, we felt very confident in the service and we were not disappointed.
After getting comfortable, we were able to sleep for most of the night before landing in Munich at 9:50 AM. We are off on another exciting adventure and we want to thank you so much for following our journey. Please drop us a line or comment on GarciaTrips to let us know that you are with us as we explore Bel Paese, (the beautiful country) of Italy.
Looking forward to your trip. You always take fascinating pictures and describe the scenes as though I feel as I am there in person, rather than just a "little person" hiding in your pocket. LOL Be safe, which I know you will, but the "Mother" in me makes me say that anyway. LOL Looking forward to your next post.
Sempre seguindo suas excelentes viagens! Aproveitem
Always love your photos, no matter where they're from, Timbuktu or your front yard! Keep 'em comin' as you enjoy Italy and Liechtenstein, etc.!
Looking forward to your trip descriptions and visits to two small European countries as well as Italy. Any opera while you are in Italy? or subway rides?
Off again! How fun!
Your trip sounds wonderful! David and I really enjoyed our 2 trips to Italy despite having our camera and cell phone stolen in the Rome airport. That was a bummer, but did not spoil our trip! Hope you have a wonderful time. Stay safe. Blessings, Carolyn

Day 13 - Saturday, April 22, 2022 - Depart for U.S.
The hotel prepared a box breakfast for us as we had to be in the lobby way before the breakfast room was open.
