Trafalgar Tours - Day 01 - October 03, 2008 - Friday – Denver Flight to Munich, Germany

As our flight from Denver International Airport (DIA) was not scheduled to leave until 2:05 PM we had a nice and leisurely morning. We did our regular Friday chores, had some coffee, read the paper and played with our two cats Kwai and Buddha.

After a short conversation with our son Eduardo about his new home, he had closed on Wednesday; we left Palmer Ridge for Denver. It was a beautiful morning, 50 degrees, bright blue skies and just a few clouds.

Traffic on I-25 was quite normal, moving at 75 MPH all the way to Denver. We cut over to I-225 and skirted to the east side of the city. At I-70 we went east for a few miles and then took Peña Boulevard to DIA and Pikes Peak outlying parking.

Once inside the terminal we were quickly sped through check-in and went through security at the A Concourse. It was empty! We did not have to wait at all. We followed the walkway to the President’s Lounge where we were able to wait in some comfort.

At 1:30 we walked down to the main concourse and our gate, A41. We had only a few minutes to wait before they allowed us to board the aircraft. Our seats, 3 A&C were quite comfortable and at the front of the AirBus 340.

We pulled back from the gate at 1:55 PM and after a very long taxi, we were finally airborne. As we looked around, the cabin was full. We had dinner about 4:30 Colorado time and then we worked on the journal and pictures.

We tried to get comfortable for a few hours of rest as we flew over Canada and the Atlantic. Our flight would take us a little over 9 hours before we land in Munich, Germany.
