South Korea & Japan: Temples, Shrines & Seaside Treasures

After almost three years, we are finally able to travel to South Korea and Japan, an OAT adventure that was scheduled in 2019. Thankfully, the world is now recovering from the Covid Pandemic and we are back in the Friendly Skies of United Airlines.

Fully vaccinated and triple boosted, we were a bit anxious about traveling again, but we have had years to prepare for this journey. Many of the strict travel restrictions imposed by these two countries have been lifted, much to our relief. We have received all of the Covid information and the QR codes from Pam Kim, our Tour Leader from South Korea. Our Japanese Tour Leader, Ken has written to us several times to reassure us that Japan is now ready to welcome visitors.

Our original early morning flight to San Francisco was cancelled by United so we had to fly to California the night before and stay in the city in order to be at the airport to have plenty of time to board the 10:32 am flight to Seoul, South Korea.

Thank you for following our journeys again. We will catch up with all of you on the other side of the world. As always, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Gam Sa Ham No Da = Thank You

So happy you’re traveling again! When I was a senior in high school, my family hosted a foreign exchange student from Japan for most of the school year. It was an amazing experience we will always remember.

So nice to see you're traveling again. We had a OAT trip to Vietnam cancelled 3 times due to Covid and I haven't rescheduled that one yet. Next summer my daughter and I are doing Kenya and Tanzania. I'll be enjoying your posts! Annmarie

So glad you can go! Will enjoy your trip vicariously. We did take a cruise around Japan in 2019 & it was so very interesting.Stopped at Jeju Island, (South Korea) & learned about the Island Women who dive.

I was just in Japan on a roadScholar tour. It will be interesting to see what you visit and compare views. I also got CoVID on the trip so got to enjoy 5 days in a quarantine hotel.

So happy to hear you are traveling again! We had our first flight in June canceled for our trip to Greece - such a hassle but we made it a day late. We were at the hotel 20 minutes and off to the Acropolis - all I wanted to do was sleep! Enjoy!
