Just before we were to go on our first journey of 2020, the COVID-19 virus hit and the world shut down for travel and adventure.
We have been working around the house, cleaning and sorting, and we replaced our deck. But the love of travel and photography beckoned us. As we remembered our great trips over the years, we decided to organize and categorize our very best photos.
The results of our efforts are now up on GarciaTrips.
We want to include special thanks to our son Eduardo for updating the site to include this new photography section.
When you visit the site, look at the top of the page at the links and find a small camera icon and the word Photographs. There is a drop down menu featuring our albums in alphabetical order. Example:
There is a short introduction to each category on the right side. By clicking on each photo in the album you can read about the location, the year, and then who took the photo.
We will resume our travel and adventures when the world is once again safe. In the meantime, please enjoy our journey back through virtual travel and the photos that some of our friends have called “Post Card Quality”.
We hope you are safe and well,
Vic & Gennie
Always thinking of you both. Any travel plans yet? I had my covid vaccine today and am thinking of Teneriffe and maybe Portugal. Miss ya and hope you are well. -Colleen
If a picture is worth a thousand words, you have shown us we need to travel. All need to hope that we can soon visit the world and meet the wonderful people.
Vic and Gennie, I just told another friend about your website (always trying to encourage others to travel) and I have viewed your new photos. They are very nice. I am really feeling bad for you both and sure hope you are well. Missing your travel adventure logs. I would still like to go back to Marmaris and live again. The language barrier is still sometimes difficult, but I so love the people and I'm telling you, Marmaris is such a nice city with amazing views and they have a nice bridge club too. I made a lot of friends there and miss them so much. You will have to visit. Take care you two. Love ya, Colleen
When can we travel again? It is so great that you took the time and made the effort to post your best pictures so we can wish for the return. We also appreciate you putting pictures on the greeting page. THANK YOU for your work and website and sorry it took us so long to thank you.
Loved the pictures, specially the Wonders of the World. But what surprised me the most was the category on windows and doors. When we travel we look at those but we never think about taking a picture of those to remember. We think about animals, birds and definitely food - so a new perspective.
Wonderful, wonderful pictures - brought back so many memories for me! Hope we can travel together again! I have 3 OAT trips on the books for next year!
Some really beautiful and original photos. Any thoughts on privately selling some of those?
You have gotten to see so many interesting animals in the wild. I love all the close-up shots. Thank you for sharing.
I finally went through the all pictures and am impressed. The variety, scope, and detail are WOW! I specially like the b&w people.
A virtual trip is just what I need right now to take my mind off of everything! I look forward to viewing the photos and pretending that I'm there!

Always enjoy your photos. Looking forward to going through all of this. Stay safe. Kevin & Judee
The Preserve was set aside to buffer some of the ecologically sensitive karsts in the area from encroaching neighborhoods. Karsts are caves that feed directly into the Edwards Aquifer below ground.
Because the three caves can be dangerous to hikers and nonprofessional spelunkers, they are...
