Traveling in Tunisia, Morocco, Israel, Greece, and Turkey and also France we have found the flavor and taste of kebabs, shawarmas, doners, or gyros to be as varied as the countries and cultures themselves. We have discovered several small mom & pop Middle Eastern cafés in Colorado Springs, but none have ever compared to Kebabalicious in Austin.
The huge cones of meat, either chicken, lamb, or beef (even combos) are grilled on a rotisserie and then thinly sliced and served in pita bread or even in a salad. The wraps are served with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and a yogurt cream sauce - these mouthwatering wraps are more than a meal. Eduardo chose the beef and lamb combo, Vic had the chicken, and Gennie opted for the steak. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries that were a perfect complement for our meal.
At Kebabalicious, one does not need to consider a Mediterranean appetizer although the traditional dessert, baklava looked and smelled delicious. As an afterthought, we ordered two servings to share – more than enough of the sweet honey-covered dessert for a satisfying meal.
Post a Comment! We're planning a trip to Austin and I'm keeping track of all these posts!
