February 7, 2007 – Wednesday – Denver, CO to Mayan Riviera Near Cancun

Up at 3 AM
Out by 3:50 AM
Arrived at Denver International Airport at 4:45 for our 7:00 flight
Dropped off Poulsens and Gennie
Checked in at Frontier for Champion Air flight
Went through extended TSA screening. Vic caught again in the red tape trap!
Concourse A 52 for flight
We were told that a flight attendant was ill – flight delayed
Champion brought in replacement from St. Louis
Flight left the gate at 8:16 - one hour and 16 minutes late
Landed in Cancun at 12:40
Torrential rains covered the whole area.
Waited for about one hour for our wet bags
Proceeded through customs and immigration
Left Cancun Airport on our Apple Tour Bus at 2:16 – Our Apple Rep gave us a short orientation and welcome.
Arrived at Iberostar Paraiso del Mar Resort at 2:50
Wen through check-in and procedures.
Arrived in our rooms and asked for a change so we would not look at construction but rather into the garden and the pool area of the inner courtyard
Unpacked our wet clothes and put them out to dry.
Met with Apple Tours representatives at 4:30
Signed up for Specialty Restaurants.
Went to the new Iberostar Shopping Plaza and got two tacos and beverage.
Walked back to Paraiso and stopped at the lobby bar and got a STRONG Margarita. Gennie tow two sips so I had 2!!!
Returned to our room, unpacked, organized and set out clothes to be washed.
Met Jesper, Ulla, Cecilie and Maria at the reception bar at 8:00.
Dinner at Steakhouse at 9 PM
Returned home at 10:50.
